What the Research Shows There are some fascinating things going on with research. For the Emotional Intelligence Institute, one of the most significant concepts is that of neuroelasticity. This describes a phenomenon that the brain exhibits that is different from what science believed as little as 20 years ago. Where we once thought that the nerve wiring of the brain was fixed at birth, we now know that it is absolutely dynamic and changes day to day. The reason this is so significant to us is that it shows the basis for our beliefs that we can literally change our brains to allow more emotionality in our lives. Though some people say that they don't feel, or that they need to feel more emotion, we believe that they are always feeling a great deal of emotionality and that their brain simply hasn't been configured to interpret it all. By changing our focus and using some very specific exercises, we can use this concept of neuroelasticity to create a brain that is in partnership with the emotions.
